Yay! The Vaeo prove competent. just, not quite enough for ‘Saw’s liking!
I wonder how you drag a deathmatch into overtime. it’s not like the other side is going to politely avoid shooting at you while still shooting so the clock continues to run.
I think they need to catch “whoever” is behind the weaponized cameras in the act of trying to use them – that requires tracking while the show is running. Overtime means that the game isn’t going the way “whoever” wants it to (probably) which makes them more likely to use the weapon system, and thus get caught. I imagine that’s some of the logic involved.
still cold comfort for the person getting blinded or staked.
@ Rippy
Your idea fits well with the the statement made in the comic. “I have to work within the law.” Pure suspicion and ‘evidence’ gathered from a mind-reader probably just aren’t enough to justify action against the guilty party. Or at least who they believe is the guilty party (We could all be wrong about it being Murphy, wouldn’t that be a twist). Jason’s sister may be an eye witness to the cameras being used as weapons, but she didn’t see who was behind the controls.
@ Shad:
Murphy’s definitely guilty of abusing her position as Security Chief, and of impersonating Cypress Vaeo without authorization. And given that she is Security Chief, either she’s complicit in the killer cameras, or her ignorance of and/or impotence to stop them will provide the Vaeo Media Conglomerate sufficient grounds for her dismissal.

I’m sure that the fact that overtime is good for ratings is just a coincidence…..
Taking a deadly game into overtime? Sounds like it’s time to grind through the rest of the cannon fodder!
just because the people in charge know the truth doesn’t mean that they are willing to do anything about it in time to save your skin
