@e:I think Vulpis was ref’ing when ponybot stampeded ‘Saw and company, which would be second – you are correct in that this (if Alice is in fact “this”) would be the third time fooling Peloton.
Just noticed that one of the head-snakes talked. Has that happened before, or is this the first time? I thought they were just limited to facial expressions. Guess not, though.
@thebobmaster They were also apparently speaking independantly way back at the beginning of this storyline, when all we saw was them in close-up activating the Tone-broadcast.
Entertainingly enough, I’m pretty sure this snake head is named Emotion. Whether it’s speaking for itself or for Gabriel, it’s a neat peak beneath his cool exterior. 😮
@The_Rippy_One: Ha! Do you think that independent intoxication suggests that they have independent thoughts and personalities, or was it just a big difference in physiology (like you said)?
I’m not even…it’s probably a little of column a, a little column b, and maybe an unknown c factors in…Okay, so, they can get drunk, so what they eat/drink has an effect, but I’m assuming that they don’t need to to go to the mini-nagette’s room, so that all has to plug into the central digestive track somewhere. They can talk, and see, so I assume they have some neural tissue, though it probably also has some distributed link back to the central brain (I figure that each head is as “smart” as your lowest spine – the bit that automates leg motion, which is actually pretty heavy “math,” given that it works on two separate data streams, both fairly removed, though obviously the mini heads are cued to more to visual, muscle control, and language (maybe), as opposed to muscle control, balance, and sensation that are the forte of that spinal section. Probably better proportioned and built, too).
uh..oh…there’s a thought…you know how, when you head bang hard enough, you risk smacking your brain into the inside of your skull, doing some level of damage (plus an endorphin rush, which is why babies head bang)? I wonder if you can tell how physically active a kendril is by how permanently “punch drunk” their mini-heads are (I’m thinking of sports with lots of sudden motion, which would snap the mini-heads around quite a bit, potentially)…Moshing must be a very odd experience for them…
@The_Rippy_One Depends on the kind of stability the tentacle-heads have. For instance, if they have chicken-style stability, you could have the situation where the ‘main’ head is dizzy and confused from moshing, while the tentacles are helping pilot them to someplace to sit down. 🙂
@the_Rippy_One very well thought out and it doesn’t seem to counter the artists comments on the subject matter http://www.formspring.me/lastres0rt/q/383103877299337628 according to jigsaw they tend be be tangents of the main personality so it get the feeling the a kendrel with MPD or DPD would be a scary tight to behold. even worse if they had soul power
@Vulpis: I’m not sure that I’d trust my mini-heads to drive my body. I’d worry about roving hands, sticky fingers, “sleep” walking, and the lower left one getting tubby from sneaking too many snacks while I wasn’t paying attention to what my hand was doing…
@Vulpis: Whoa, I’d never thought of it like that! If all the mini-heads weren’t dizzy from headbanging, maybe the main head would incorporate that info and never get dizzy in the first place.
@e_voyager: I’d run for my life, then realize how much it would suck to be the owner of those magical mini-heads. Something tells me they can’t use magic independently. 😛
@The_Rippy_One: …or what your second left hand was doing. 😉
If Melody’s mini-heads didn’t look like her, I’d honestly entertain the (surely wrong) notion that the mini-heads were a different species altogether, some kind of congenital symbiote for all the independence they show. Maybe they do need to visit the mini-nagette’s room. 😕
No but they can help drive you crazy and open up a world of fantasy effect a land of whimsy as it were. IE (soul power + Mini-head(s) with MPD or DPD) = (crazy person+ magic ) opening the possibility of the whimsy. heck i think even a sterling can cause it if they resonate with a Strong enough power in the area. i don’t believe Jigsaw said they had to have soul power but it could hurt. heh would it be funny if that one kid Jigsaw sent to Rei was the whimser?
She didn’t notice ‘Saw, interesting….
heh this is fun . who wadges that it’s Jigsaw here to see the good Doctor?
Xanatos Speed Chess? I like where this is going.
Interesting design of the ship. I like it. ^_^
Hmmmmmm…I wonder if the person at the door is who Gabriel thinks it is?
@thebobmaster: My favorite kind, as well.
I assume that it’s Alice, disguised as someone (Daisy, maybe?), given ‘Saw was contemplating something that Daisy would not do…
Spaaaaaaace~! It’s so purple and shiny, and splitting the scene like lense flare over that star is a great touch. 😀
@nikolai60: Indeed! Do you think that has more to do with what Peloton’s been told to focus on, or with how it perceives things?
@Josh.C: I want to say no, but I don’t think I know who he expects. If they’re playing speed chess, maybe he’s expecting a pawn. 😛
Hmmm. No mention of Jason, interesting.
Also interesting that she counted Alice as one of the ‘children’.
thats one pretty ship, and a lovely eye hue
any bets on who shows up at the door and what they claim they are there for?
@Vulpis: Alice was still in disguise – if Peloton hadn’t picked up on it before, no reason she should pick up on it on the second encounter.
@The_Rippy_One actually this wold be the third encounter that we’ve seen if that’s Alice at the door

They talked on other characters with the snake heads. usually saying something related to the likely feelings of the primary character
@thebobmaster They were also apparently speaking independantly way back at the beginning of this storyline, when all we saw was them in close-up activating the Tone-broadcast.
We’ve also seen them get independently drunk, if that has any bearing. (It went straight to my head!)
Entertainingly enough, I’m pretty sure this snake head is named Emotion. Whether it’s speaking for itself or for Gabriel, it’s a neat peak beneath his cool exterior. 😮
