1. Alright, that answer’s who’s behind all the happenings on the ship.
2. Glad to see they’re letting the remaining captain take charge, even Alice. It would seem that Gabriel hasn’t been able to keep track of EVERYTHING as they’ve been making their own plans.
Hmmmmm…Though this gives me some concerns, if they start taking actions, what happens to Daisy?
If the Whimser is the only thing keeping Daisy alive, if they make one wrong move or cause a distraction in the wrong way, then Daisy might have to consider making her will if she really does have a killer virus effecting her Glitter.
But wait, why’s she justifying her heroism with the logic of the Deadly Game? It seems like being contained on the show was part of her deal with Veled, so is bringing Jason back part of minimizing general suspicion surrounding their absence?
@Josh.C: Yeah, Daisy would be in big trouble. The only two things I can think of are either that these nonlethal barnacles are caused by the Whimsy and they’ll disappear when she leaves, or she takes a dip in the Glitter bath before they escape. 😕
@Josh C and Sul: Why would they disappear when no longer in the presence of whimsy? Or her leg, for that matter? Whimsy alters reality – as far as I can see, leaving the field shouldn’t undo anything.
Has anyone said why losing your ID chip is lethal? Is it a sudden inability to control your internal Glitter, or what? I can see some value in having a completely borked up ID, especially if you’re someone in Daisy’s position.
@Nikolia: If it is, ‘Saw could just siphon out Daisy’s Glitter before they leave, and a corrupted ID couldn’t be used in court I imagine…wonder what else is on it (scout ID, maybe?)
@The_Rippy_One: It could have her Scout ID on it, or she might have a separate embedded chip for that.
@e_voyager: I hate to throw this out there again, but maybe Jigsaw will try that anyway, fail with lethal consequences, and have to sire Daisy to save her. :3
@sulucamas one more thing i forgot to mention; Daisy is a light child and as such can’t become a djinn according to normal rules. their may be some exceptions inside the whimsy but i don’t know for sure.
Here is a thought – what if there is more than one whimser? I personally think Veled could be a whimser, but perhaps not the whimser that the girls are referring to. I really hope Veled keeps her promise that she made to ‘Saw ([url=https://www.lastres0rt.com/2009/12/and-the-punchline-is-a-real-killer/]see here[/url]), but I fail to see how she could keep it if things went south while she is on the whimser’s ship.
@e_voyager: Oh yeah! No shell, no shattering. 😛
It would break their deal, and I think it’d be fun to see just what would happen. 😮
@Lavabat: Are you proposing that Veled’s *gasp* insane? 😉
If there’s more than one Whimser in the same place, I’d guess their Whimsies would just…overlap? At the end of the day, Daisy’s trying to (somehow) use the Whimser to her advantage, so I guess finding one would be as good as finding another?
(I always thought the WordPress Codex was pretty helpful, but I think it works fine if you just copy and paste your links.)
@Sulucamas: Am I saying Veled is insane? Yeah, sure, why not? 😛
She strikes me as being a typical Celeste – want’s the Celeste to be the dictators of the universe, or at least the most powerful in the universe. Oh sure she has some secret agendas which are revealed in Last Res0rt – First Against the Wall (Artist Edition), but those agendas don’t appear to conflict with the “dictators of the universe” thing.
funny i had a comment with two different HTML links but it’s not showing up still the one that Sulucamas has up looks good. and Veled could be insane but her insanity seems to be bent around keeping her planet at peace like she’d done for the past what 20 years i think
@e_voyager: You are right about her keeping her planet at peace for 20 years, but I don’t think this is necessarily a sign of benevolence on her part. Her species did occupy and rename an entire planet, after all. She seems very capable for someone who is insane though – maybe she some if it is just for show?
@lava: Yeah, the half-Celeste are self-entitled jerks – but I don’t know how long ago the Ziligo/Celigo conquest occurred – Veled’s only been in charge for twenty years, right? I want to say I saw that somewhere. Given that she was Ziligo’s scout for longer then that (Fenirel’s friend->year of fear 25 years ago), I sort of assumed the coup (or what ever it actually was. My bets on yet another Xanatos pile-up, with Cypress’s mum in the middle of it, given https://www.lastres0rt.com/2011/06/i-think-johnny-cash-wrote-a-song-about-this/ and maybe https://www.lastres0rt.com/2008/11/showering-is-honestly-very-important/ ), I sort of doubt Veled was directly responsible for that debacle, though I’d bet said debacle lead to her eventual rise (or inspired her to try, if only because it was such a mess that it offended her sense of order).
On the Full Celeste: Is it self-entitled if they literally faced extinction fighting to save the universe? I’d given them decent benefits for the rest of their endless lives for something like that (and by benes, I don’t mean strapped to a ship’s inner bulkhead by several lengths of metal cord. Unless they asked. Half-Celeste are really ungrateful bastards [in every sense of the term], aren’t they?).
@The_Rippy_One: The Celeste claim to have saved the universe, but can this claim be verified? And assuming that the did save the universe, Did they so because they cared about the universe and all those within it, or was it just to save their own species?
@lava: Strictly speaking, no, we don’t know it for certain. We only have Rei’s word on it. Same way we don’t know if she’s being honest about helping the Talmi free themselves (though, I assume that her story jives enough with what ‘Saw knows to be plausible). It is possible that Rei’s offered more proof than we’ve seen, or, at least provided enough that ‘Saw was willing to tell her bedtime story, and we’re supposed to take it on faith on ‘Saw’s say so. Yay, unreliable narrator!
On the other hand, we do know that Full Celeste are rare to the point of myth, so that does jive with the “last nine,” and if they are that rare, something did hit them, but left several million mutts, so her “rise of the half-Celeste” hangs together, and implies, if not a war, then some other interstellar tragedy. Given all that, I give the rest of her story a pass until we can try to verify it…
I think that it’s time for Miss Forte to find her strong point and grow up a little more.
1. Alright, that answer’s who’s behind all the happenings on the ship.
2. Glad to see they’re letting the remaining captain take charge, even Alice. It would seem that Gabriel hasn’t been able to keep track of EVERYTHING as they’ve been making their own plans.
@Nikolai: about #1…that’s not necessarily the case…what about this comic has you believe that any event has had only a single entity behind it?
(answer: Veled. Stupid sexy [maybe evil] max’d soul messiah..)
sooo it seems the new girl with the autie lenses IS our missing djinn after all…
@Rippy yeah I know, nothing is EVER as it seems, but we have someone to blame for now at least.
But also yes, Veled does as she wants, but I somehow doubt she’s the whimser.
@Nikolia: Yeah, you are probably right about the Whimser thing.
*In Jigsaw’s dark fortress of comicry, the author reads, and begins to laugh. In anticipation, the demons cower…*
Hmmmmm…Though this gives me some concerns, if they start taking actions, what happens to Daisy?

YEAH!! 😀
But wait, why’s she justifying her heroism with the logic of the Deadly Game? It seems like being contained on the show was part of her deal with Veled, so is bringing Jason back part of minimizing general suspicion surrounding their absence?
And just what is “The Floor?” 😮
@Josh.C: Yeah, Daisy would be in big trouble. The only two things I can think of are either that these nonlethal barnacles are caused by the Whimsy and they’ll disappear when she leaves, or she takes a dip in the Glitter bath before they escape. 😕
Lets do this!
If life is a game then play to win.
@Josh C and Sul: Why would they disappear when no longer in the presence of whimsy? Or her leg, for that matter? Whimsy alters reality – as far as I can see, leaving the field shouldn’t undo anything.

@Rippy It could be that the whimsey needs to be maintained for the changes to last.
Also, I think that the glitter thing is probably it with the ID chip.
@Nikolia: If it is, ‘Saw could just siphon out Daisy’s Glitter before they leave, and a corrupted ID couldn’t be used in court I imagine…wonder what else is on it (scout ID, maybe?)
@The_Rippy_one Jigsaw isn’t that skilled yet. Qin could do it but then he’s been a doctor far longer then many religions by this point.
@nikolai60: Righto! 🙂
@The_Rippy_One: It could have her Scout ID on it, or she might have a separate embedded chip for that.
@e_voyager: I hate to throw this out there again, but maybe Jigsaw will try that anyway, fail with lethal consequences, and have to sire Daisy to save her. :3
@sulucamas could be but that would break her deal with Veled about not siring others https://www.lastres0rt.com/2009/12/and-the-punchline-is-a-real-killer/
@sulucamas one more thing i forgot to mention; Daisy is a light child and as such can’t become a djinn according to normal rules. their may be some exceptions inside the whimsy but i don’t know for sure.

Also sorry for using BBCode in my last post, I can’t get my head around HTML Link Code. If anyone has a tutorial or something let me know! 🙂
well if you really want one here you go but i tend to prefer a cheat sheet form for when i forget things
@e_voyager: Oh yeah! No shell, no shattering. 😛
It would break their deal, and I think it’d be fun to see just what would happen. 😮

@Lavabat So Far Rei is the only Full Celeste we’re seen
