@Shad I’m pretty sure Murphy has it in for just about anyone that is ‘in the way’ of promotion/profits/agenda in general, Cypress just so happens to be one such person.
Murphy…Murphy, Murphy, Murphy…If you are going to do things above your paygrade, it is wise to cover your tracks. Have you been wise, Ms. Murphy?
(Murphy seems like the kind of person to use the (drunken) company holiday party to steal corporate secrets, and then leave a photocopy her hind-end in the office she broke into…Capable, scheming, and yet, prone to really dumb mistakes)
I highly doubt Melody is going to buy Murphy’s excuse. Especially with…you know, cameras. I highly doubt she wouldn’t try to verify Murphy’s extremely weak alibi.
Heh, Melody arrange for Murphy’s flunky to be killed on live broadcast, instead of happening without being seen?
Just goes to show she isn’t above taking a hands on approach in matters that concern her. Not to mention it snubs a certain chief of security who is messing in things she should leave alone.
She’s a Celeste, with her other half being Kendril. She, like all full-blooded Kendril (save for Gabriel) covers her split mandibles. Kind of a shame, really. From what we can see of her, she’s kinda pretty as far as comic characters go (and has a thing for Slick). I wonder what his reaction would be if she tried to kiss him? XD
@Darkewulf: I agree, she is relatively cute…and her sense of style helps 🙂 but I’m not sure she can kiss – mandibles tend to be boney, and kissing generally seems to rely on soft tissue over muscles.
Just how many layers of backstabbing and infighting do we have here? I’m pretty sure there’s a half dozen interests known and another three or four waiting in the wings!
Murphy… is playing a dangerous game. Although, she probably did the right thing by the rules of the game. Still, this is probably going to cause trouble.
I dunno, all things with mouths have mandibles (I was merely quoting the species description in the RPG). Although if Gabriel (who appears to be a Human/Kendril Celeste, pardon my earlier mistake) has only a somewhat split lip, it stands that Melody, being half Talmi, would be able to kiss in a fairly normal manner. I dunno, I’m still kind of going on bits n’ pieces here.
@jigsaw. Say what does charisma mean for a kendril? does it refer to the mask or the face below the mask? can they have negative charisma? i ask because it stats that Geisha’s face rates a 4.4 which is assassin grade and it makes me wonder how you would translate that into the game terminology and if the face could be uses as a secondary weapon to no kendril players. it’s a little off topice but i don’t have a form spring account.
Exclaiming at her superior(?) like that supports the notion that Murphy’s a bit unhinged (even more than Jason). I think she might just be the most dangerous character in the comic. 😯
@Darkewulf: Melody probably covers her face for the same reason Geisha does. If there’s going to be any kissing, though, just watch out for that venom. 😛
@e_voyager: The great thing about Formspring is that you don’t need an account to ask questions! 😮
But yeah, ask on the formspring and I’ll be glad to expound a little more. There’s like three different things I could end up mentioning / spoiling if I assume which ones are worth talking about.
@sulucame and jigsaw I’ll try but last time i tried asking question on formsrping it wouldn’t let me since i didn’t have and account to sign into.
@nikolai60 It means that one of geisha’s siblings was charismatic enough to shack up with a Celeste and are hopefully still happily married. not the first time and not the last so try not to think about it. if were luck this is one think that will never get rule 34’ed
Heh. I’ve sent a question in Via Formspring, under my character Nevix’ name, since my usual Hariman was taken.
I asked for confirmation of whether or not Melody really is Geisha’s niece, and I asked if The Spirit of Murphy’s Law is White Noise’s missing daughter, since it seems to be such a small universe.
It honestly would surprise me. Much. Well, OK, it would, but… something. I don’t know what, but “something”!
@Hariman: Whole new spin on: “Just wait, young lady, until your father finds out what you’ve done!”
honestly, I think she’s only slightly younger than WN, but has had better upkeep/cares more for her appearance (just thinking that it’s really hard to manage that sort of stuff while in prison).
Worth note that since we’re talking about an interplanetary event with plenty of time to prepare (Jigsaw’s managed to make her way over, after all, so it stands to reason other folks would as well), the world just looks a little smaller than we’re used to. 😉
@e_voyager: Either that, or the Celeste involved just had a thing for scalies (or possibly very risky liasons), and convinced their partner to “keep the bag on.”
One word: BUSTED
Well, I’m gonna enjoy watching the fallout from this one, if we get lucky Melody will drag this out to increase misery….
Good at impersonating voices but bad at her security job. she really is the spirit of the Murphy’s law.
why do I feel murphy has it out for Cypress…?

Interesting…Melody covers up her face in other ways than the bondage-wear? I do wonder what she’s hiding under there…

Wait…I was just looking at the cast pages, and in Geisha’s it lists Melody as his *niece*??? Or is that a different Melody?

Nope, Melody Niadia, that’s her.
FUKKIN’ MIND-BLOWING REVELATION, MAN. I did NOT notice that before.
