…Ok, I absolutely love how many twists and turns this story has, and continues to add on, it keeps us on our toes and pretty much guarantees we won’t be able to guess what’s coming, but there isn’t a plot tree on the planet big enough to keep everything straight.
NOTE: this is NOT a bad thing, simply something I felt I had to mention.
@ Josh C.: They might not be the MiB. If Anime has taught me anything, in the Future, everyone with any taste wears 70’s leisure suits, and black is always classy. After what South Park told me, and the Internet confirmed, about their beliefs,
If the Hybrids had no idea of how to deal with the Vampires (Otherworlders?), why didn’t they turn to the surviving Purebreds for guidance, rather than the Endless? Had that knowledge died along with those that fought in the war?
Good Question Sul. it’s possible that Vampires had changed or mutated. Also If the dead inside helped stop the otherworlders before why were they being attacked by the hybrids now instead of them teaming up again? i get the feeling that the endless are lead by7 otherworlders be they vampires or not. it seems to pat not to be the case.
@Sulucamas and e_voyager: Or it could be like the mass loss of Purebred Celeste. Vampires veiwed as being done in for the most part by the war as they to did engage the Otherworlders.
We’ll probably have to wait a bit to see if the Vampire’s really were the Otherworlders. But like you both say, it’s rather fishy that only the hybrids a mentioned making the deal with the Endless. That doesn’t sound to good if you consider the Purebreds were treated like gods.
Talk about selling you mother and father for a wooden nickel.
thew way i see it the Hybrids were silly kids who should have known better but didn’t. they didn’t know what vampires were perhaps if they’d asked the parents they would have found other but they made a deal with some cult instead trying to handle things on their own. were the Vampires otherworlders? i don’t know maybe. maybe not. remember the dead insider don’t need to breed to reproduce so as lone and one of them survive more can come. any sterling that shatters can become a djinn if they live long enough to master there power. It’s possible that the vampires are dead inside the originated on earth to fight and keep the remnants of the otherworlders on earth at bay given rise to all the legends , secret societies and secret wars that plague the planets fiction who knows. … only jigsaw does and she’ll tell us or not when she’s ready.
Also, internal hypocrisy is so common that yeah, the Endless could totally be led by Vampires/Otherworlders. 😛
@Josh.C: That’s a great point comparing the “extinction” of the Vampire population to the Purebreds. Looking at it that way, maybe the Vampires aren’t the Otherworlders. It could explain why people aren’t freaking outmore at their continued existence.
Maybe only the Hybrids are mentioned because they were the ones reclaiming Terth? Or maybe they’ve been running the show the whole time, and simply treating the Purebreds like gods to keep them placated and out of the way?
@Sulucamas: Of coarse the Endless being called a cult means that the treatment the Purebred Celeste are receiving would possibly be blasphemy in the Endless’s eyes.
Cause and effect sometimes does not paint a flattering view of some people when you apply it to someone. Of coarse we don’t really know if this would be the case. But……
Meanwhile. I’m curious how much Jig’ is glossing over for the sake of understanding/time? Remember, her audience is trending relatively young. The kids probably understand death and violence (that “I miss mommy” still gets to me), but advanced politics? maybe not so much…
Why are the MiB pimp-tastic? It’s the clothes, right? the sexy dig the clothes…
@Sulucamas: I was thinking more along, if Rei is what most Purebred look like. Then depending on the religion the Endless cult are built off of, they might view the Hybrids closely to Angel’s.
But the Sphinx that Rei looks like, has a checkered history of being a holly protector and then being a evil demon beast in Greek mythology. So if the Hybrids are power hungry enough and depending how the Endless saw the purebreds, it could get rather bad for Rei.
I mean, when we talk about Celeste Hybrids now, all you here about is the Celeste and not Celeste hybrids.
@Josh.C: I guess they’re all Celeste, in the end. And if the Purebreds are so rare, it’s almost not worth the time to include the distinction for the majority. 😛
I’m really curious about what the other Purebreds looked like; whether or not they all looked like Rei. If we’re guessing that the Purebreds were the fictional inspiration for the sphynx, maybe there were Purebreds that looked humanoid enough (bipedal) to be the fictional inspiration for angels long before the Hybrids. Or maybe ancient humans just reinterpreted everything as looking like a human. xD
Have you ever read the novel’s behind “Vampire Hunter D” ? The world during this period would be very similar, I’d imagine. Humans mostly just cattle or slaves for the undead, with only a handful of powerful champions able to defend them. Will Dampeals ever have a roll in all this? I can see someone like D founding the Endless.

Wait is this claiming that the Vampires were the otherworlders?
Wow, that first panel of Rei just reconfirms just how much Rei looks like a Sphinx. So utterly cool looking.^^
The men in black were vampire hunters? Figures, you can’t trust people with shades and and 70’s beard and mustache, you just can’t trust disco. ;P
Have I mentioned how interesting how Jigsaw is telling this little story to the kids. ^^
I like the fourth panel.
Wow. Jigsaw should not be in the running for bedtime stories. That’s some prime-A Nightmare Fuel that seems to be coming.
Hey! That “not extinct vampire” looks like Jigsaw’s old pal “Steve”!
He really HAS been around for millenia!
On the other side of the story, I think I know where the endless got their start. 🙁

http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s09e12-trapped-in-the-closet
the church that L. Ron Hubbard built getting REALLY freaked out by something that can take your soul isn’t too far of a stretch.
Of course this now explains the prevalence of winged lion figures in the mythologies of many ancient cultures.
@e_voyager: I read it that way too…! 😯

power and control…isn’t that what all cults want?

…and the first thing the cult and hybrids did in their war is ressurect a Terth author named Stephanie Mayer… 😉 (Hey, they’re *eeeevil*, remember? 😉 )
@e_voyager: Well put! 😀

For those wondering why the hybrid Celeste had so much trouble with the revealed to be not extinct vampires:
Knowing what you’re fighting and how to deal with them individually means nothing if they’ve had years to build up several armies worth of vampires.
Remember, Earth only survived the assault by the Endless/Celeste because Earth had an unexpected horde of Dead Inside and a decent bit of luck.
endless sprang from earth during the war with the Celeste. Earth’s tech also wasn’t that far behind the Celeste to begin with.
“Order. Power. Control.”
Glowing pink eyes!

@Josh.C: Blasphemy as in “you shouldn’t treat them like gods instead of us?” That seems to be where they’ve ended up, but maybe Rei’s a rare case. 😕
@hariman: Ya wonder if there might be some good stories to be had there… 🙂
@e_voyager: Perhaps the war did the same thing to their technology as it did to the Purebreds? 😉

their could have been some that looked like dragons and other fictitious/ mythic species as well.
…so they want, O.P.C?
