About the sanity and stability thing, my friend has a a saying for that. “There is no such thing as sanity. Everyone is insane. Some people are just more insane than others.”
Or not! I’d forgotten that Peloton wanted Jason to come with it “as a security precaution,” which really doesn’t seem unwarranted right after he’d been plotting to kill Daisy. Did Alice tell not them the whole story, or does Peloton/Gabriel just have zero tolerance for death threats? ๐
@nikolai60: There there, there’s always next week. xD
Is the Whimsy making him less stable, then?
@Josh.C: Are you suggesting that Peloton (overre)acted independently there? ๐ฎ
@Sulucamas: I’m not really sure of anything really.
Being an asylum ship does make it suspicious that a Whimzer ended up exactly on a ship that he most likely would have ended up. If it is Gabriel, then we also have to take i the fact he has more then one thinking mind as well.
If you get down to it, was Peloton ordered or was she enacting her own programming to maintain the order on the ship? Kind of hard to say, but her actions seem to go exactly against what Gabriel told her when smoking. In fact, I’m a little suspicious of if Gabriel is really one of Peloton’s chargers just as much as anyone else on this ship.
@sulucamas & Josh C. Actually at this point Jason had just decided not to do anything to Daisy. his mind had entered a Let her suffer rather then a i must kill her mode and yes she was told to watch them but not necessarily to act. yet when she did act she agreed with him that it was because he had not done a thing did this me he was being punished for not acting ? or was this a preemptive strike? i’m not sure
@ Sul: Or that one of his little heads is the Whimser. I will note that one of Melody’s little head Dex got tipsy without she, or any of the others, being affected – I’m sure that means…something…probably.
@Nollid221: Sure, but Jig’ already knows she’s made of pure awesome (Or at least she ought – it’s a bit like saying water is wet, after all). But I’m sure she was getting tired of 15 to twenty people telling her that she makes the most beautiful things weekly – too much praise comes off as false. ๐
What I really want to is is were the players deliberately sent on a suicide mission? I suspect they may have been. Viewers of Last Resort (the show) would expect at least one of the main players to die – and would probably feel cheated if none of then died. Cypress Vaeo and her family would know this.
@Lavabat Of course, said suicide mission could have been the plans of the Org and their misinformation, with Cypress simply going along with the suggestion not realizing they were ALL intended to die, not just one or two.
@nikolai60: Or Cypress is happy to have any number of them die as long as the ratings she gets from airing their deaths makes it worth her while. Remember – high ratings = big profits.
@lavabat: With two exceptions: One – the deaths get regular or predictable; anything can get boring, and nothing kills ratings like boring. two: if everyone dies, which ends the show – having one more episode will almost always be more profitable, especially when, as a live show, Last Res0rt can’t easily hype the “next episode,” only the previous ones.
that sounds like the premise of the show in a nutshell. you have one last chance for freedom and a normal life. all your crime of the past (and the ones of the show as well) well be forgive if you complete the show weather you were in charge one not all you need to do is survive and complete most of you objective before your season ends or the season ends you.
Which if you ask me is exactly what he did. also i get the feeling that that feather is about to come in handy very soon.
NOOO MY GROWING PERFECT RECORD Q.Q
But yeah, Gabriel doesn’t seem all that…stable… Though I wonder if this is more whimsey at work…
*yes we already know he’s insane, but even insane people sometimes are ‘stable’ to a point.
Ah, but it wasn’t Gabriel that took Jason.
The way it sounded when talking with his A.I. body, he wasn’t really expecting much problems that didn’t need just a few guards keeping watch.

I can think of a couple of things to use that feather for…like making sure the pod is actually moving, or it isn’t rotating through just three pods.
Yes, Daisy, go with that thought.
Cue villainous laughter and exposition? ๐

Oh noes, the dreaded Specter of Uncertainty!
@Josh.C: More than one thinking mind? Like he has a split personality? Maybe one of his aptly-named snake heads is calling the shots? ๐

Remember when we just used the comment thread to compliment the artwork?

@The_Rippy_One: True, but they can always get more criminal and volunteers for another season of Last Resort.
