Also it just occurred to me, now Jigsaw can add a powerful Celeste to the list of species she’s drop-kicked. Wonder if Veled will congratulate her for this one later…
@ Shad, I agree, though, it’s not that hard to fix her robe…just grab the front, tie a knot, twist, and duck head through the resulting loop. Voila, near instant sarong! Takes about 3 seconds…about as long as her last sentence.
A looming problem I see on the horizon is what they’re going to do with Rei. She’s not going to want to have anything to do with Celigo or Last Res0rt Station since they have such a strong Endless presence, so I’m thinking Daisy and Saw need to commandeer the White Diamond Crisis and fly it to Arael so they can let Rei and the kids off before Silk manages to launch that rescue mission.
@kermit honestly i don’t think she has anywhere she can go, it’s probably why she’s put up with gabriel for so long without realising she was being used. i suspect most Celeste would want her dead because she’s pure, most endless would want her dead because she knows too much, and most DI would either try to turn her or want her dead because she’s a Pure Celeste.
@e_voyager I don’t know if she picked up the ‘Boot to The Rear’ technique from Daisy…but that ‘Toned’ pose she’s in (and her expression) does remind me a *lot* of how Daisy looked waaaaay back when she had her ‘Light Child’ reaction to entering the arena without her glasses.
Meanwhile…that repair-job is looking a bit…tight on the chest, and exposed down below…
@ Vulpis For down below, I think she may still have the vector underwear on. Any sort of underwear would cover down below, really. Or perhaps her fur is fluffy enough to cover up as-is.
@The_Rippy_One: I think Jig has more to worry about with Gabriel-the-Celeste than Gabriel-the-Whimser. That pod better close and shuffle fast! ๐
@nightarix: Rei probably also knows that living on the Talmi’s homeworld would be worse politically than Daisy freely admitting her secret identity. I’m with ya, looks like she’s stuck in space. ๐
@Sulucamas: Hmmmmmmmm…I’ve got to agree going to the station and Celigo might be very risky for what she knows.
Though I doubt there would be as much fallout if she went back to the Talmiโs homeworld. If Jigsaw’s story is any indication, Rei would have been the most liked of the Celeste in that situation. Rei might even be to high a profile a target to try anything on if it isn’t a planet they completely control like Celigo.
Of course, if they are forced to go back to station, it will be interesting to see them trying to hide Rei until they can find her a ride to someplace safer.
@ Josh C Great, now I just imagined Rei being found on Last Resort station and made to join Daisy and Jigsaw’s team. It’d probably be awesome for the show’s ratings, and it IS what they did with Sedja and Gangrel.
“Sure, we can let her go…if she wins her way out like all the other volunteers!”
@Sul, Shad: The Arealians would love having Rei stay over – they have great empathy for anyone who sticks it in the Half-Celeste’s collective eye. The political fallout is Celigo having yet another reason to paint a target on the entire planet. Along with StarOrg and the Endless.
And that’s before Rei starts naming names. Those three have to deny the story. It does no good to have the angels descend and inform the faithful that the saints imprisoned them all. They’d have to launch a mission to “rescue the poor Celeste from her obvious imprisonment and torture, because why else would she be saying these lies?” And media blackouts galore…
Rei can go to Areal, but she’d have to be there very quitely, and I’m not sure she’d put up with that. (Though she might hang around for a bit of some gene splicing and a rescue mission for a male pure Celeste…)
@kemanorel: since he’s going in face first? yes, the wings can position to allow him passage. It’s coming back out that needs assistance. Or dark Whismeric powers.
@Josh.C: Even though it’s really farfetched, it wouldn’t be the first time the Celeste tried something major on a planet they didn’t completely control (…yet). ๐ฎ
I wonder where they’d try to hide her on the station. She’s HUGE! ๐
@kemanorel: Maybe if Jig can’t stamp him in herself, she could get someone with bigger feet to help? :3
I’m starting to think that the bit of Veled’s prophecy about “They shall return when all shall see / a Dead Inside where none should be” refers to Saw, Jason and/or Alice taking a stand with Rei against the Endless. From the Endless perspective, a pack of Insiders definitely shouldn’t be allied with a pure Celeste against the hybrids.
@Kermit: Makes sense to me, though I kinda write off that prophecy given its source (at least as far as we know). Seems the danger would come more from the Endless freaking out than the Otherworlders actually showing up.
I wonder whether the Hybrids would be able to stave off the Otherworlders without the Djinn helping like they did last time.
@Kermit and Sulcumas. The prophecy never says who they is. they could be the pure blood Celeste after all. judging from Daisy’s reaction they are so rare as to be mythic to most being in the galaxy
You know, having the half-celeste displaced and eradicated probably would be world ending, from a certain perspective. Not sure how I feel about a Celeste/Djinn alliance against the half-Celeste status quo. On one side, if Veled sided with Rei and the pure, there would be a whole lot of awesome. On the other hand, it would risk have an aspect of genocidal war, and that isn’t ever a good thing.
Not…precisely…sure, the StarOrg wants them Dead Outside as well as In, but Veled doesn’t seem to care as long as they don’t make nuisances of themselves. I imagine that a lot of politicals and militaries take similar lines – pragmatism first, holy crusade second. On the Shattered side of things, they don’t seem to care, or feel the risks of fighting and really motivating the Celeste to get serious are too great. So, cold war, not hot.
Having any Pure, let alone all 9, side with the Djinn and Vamps would change the formula rather extensively – one of the Celestia’s big powers is being able to mobilize the Endless and StarOrg towards a goal. The Pure Celeste would harm that capability – what do you do when the saints say one thing, and the angels say the opposite? Answer: Schism or duck. The Half-Celeste could not afford it, and they’d probably have to bring the fight some how, and quickly.
Having a Pure side with Areal, which is anti-half-Celeste, is similarly problematic, for about half the same reasons.
that….was bloody epic…
I think she learned that move form Daisy. you go jigsaw!
I wonder if someone will try editing that last panel to pull a ‘this is sparta’ line XD
Any illusions of control Gabriel had should have been thoroughly…kicked to the curb.
And when you consider the strength of Talmi leg muscles, there may very well be a few cracks in Gabriel’s undercarriage, if not his armor.
Into the pit of death for Gabriel!
Anyone notice the change of clothing Jigsaw is wearing? Seems like she was able to make up a fix rather quickly.
That was awesome. I don’t know what else to say, except that Jigsaw is rapidly approaching Adharia levels of badass.
considering she has had time to improvise a fix for her robe, i think jiggy whipped up another illusion the moment her tail was free.
Love love love the last panel! Go Jig!
Also it just occurred to me, now Jigsaw can add a powerful Celeste to the list of species she’s drop-kicked. Wonder if Veled will congratulate her for this one later…

@meowll: Fully agree; easy fix. I do like the effect though.
Gabe: Are these the droids I’m looking for?!
‘Saw: Nope!
Of course, I’m expecting Gabe to come floating out of the hole, all black aura malevolence with red eyes, reality cracking beneath his displeasure…
“Gabriel: the Dark Whimser Appears!”
And ‘Saw regrets not bringing her Master Sword..or a bottle…
@shad considering that Gab puts himself off as her ex boyfriend she’d probably get an extra cup for that

In the words of a very young Plucky Duck would say during this….”Gabey go down the hollleeeee!”
Gabriel has wings. Is he even going to fit through the hatch?

…or maybe someone somewhere’s been spending the last few millennia following Captain Eyepatch’s plan in secret. ๐ฏ
