Since the sire helps, I wonder if it means the vampirification is the same as “once bitten, one becomes vampire”, “drink blood of a vampire”, or something along those lines.
I always figured that being bitten turns you, which is ridiculous because that’s what were-wolves do; if you’re bitten by one, or scratched, or if you drink water from a wolf’s paw print on a full moon, you become one.
It just makes me wonder is all, especially because of the varying ways one is turned that occurs in fiction……
